Cancellation Policy

The Reading Engagement

We know that life with little ones under five is full of surprises! Fevers pop up, naps run long, and schedules change. Because our storytellers dedicate time, travel, and custom material to each session, we've set the following policies to keep our calendar running smoothly.

Policy 1

Weekly Enrichment Classes (Drop-Ins & Passes)

24 Hours or More Notice

You can reschedule your class or receive a full credit back to your account through our online portal at no cost.

Less Than 24 Hours Notice

Late cancellations or "no-shows" will forfeit that class credit. We cannot offer refunds or credits for last-minute cancellations.

Sickness Policy

Please keep sick kiddos home! If your child wakes up ill, contact us immediately. We will grant one emergency sickness pass per family every 90 days to reschedule with less than 24 hours notice.

Policy 2

Monthly Memberships

Cancellations

You can cancel your monthly membership at any time through your account dashboard.

Timing

Cancellations must be made before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the following month.

Refunds

We do not offer partial refunds or prorated credits for unused classes within a billing cycle once payment has processed.

Policy 3

Birthday Parties & Private Events

Deposits

All birthday party bookings require a non-refundable $50-$100 Booking fee depending on the package.

Rescheduling (14+ Day Notice)

If you need to change the date, you can apply your full deposit to any open date within the next six months at no extra charge.

Late Cancellation (Less Than 14 Days Notice)

If you cancel the party entirely within 14 days of the event, the $100 deposit is forfeited.

Inclement Weather

For outdoor parties, if severe weather (heavy rain, extreme heat, or high winds) prevents us from performing safely, you may move the party indoors or reschedule to an open date within 30 days with no penalty.

Policy 4

If We Have To Cancel

On rare occasions, a storyteller may get sick or severe weather may prevent us from traveling. If The Reading Engagement must cancel a session:

Classes

You will receive an immediate credit or refund, plus priority booking for the next week.

Parties

We will make every effort to send a backup storyteller. If we cannot fulfill your event, you will receive a 100% full refund of all payments, including your deposit.
